Arts Residencies

Create with Us!

Based in Dublin, Aerial Cirque is a space where many aerial artists and theatre groups create, research, and develop their ideas through focused residencies.

We offer residences for periods of focused work which can range from 2 weeks to 1 day to a block of one-off hours.

We are a space run by professional aerial artists and we know what is required to create great work! We’re constantly reinvesting in the studio and its equipment to bring to access the best of what there is to offer in the aerial world.

If you are interested in applying for Arts Council Funding to use the space, please contact us at admin@aerialcirque.org for a Letter of Support.

Spotlight

Artists in Residency

Sophia Bikova, Feb - Mar 2023

Sophia Bikova was granted the Agility Award from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2022 and has been dedicating exclusive time at Aerial Cirque Studios to develop her artistic practice and advancing her aerial technique. She has been working with Emmen Jude Donnelly, an amazing aerial artist based in Belfast, on developing technical skills and vocabulary on aerial rope. Sophia has also been taking online aerial silks classes with Belgium based aerialist, Hanne Coeckelberghs, with a focus on upskilling in dynamic movement.

We are proud to support Sophia as she continues to develop and nurture her aerial career.

Kate Finegan, Feb - Mar 2023

Kate Finegan is also in residency at the studio and is creating an arthouse short film with glass sculptor, Alison Lowry, artist videographer, Laura Sheeran, and singer-songwriter Jessica Kavanagh. Details about the film cannot be revealed yet but the unique mix of talent described will give you an idea of the creative energy flowing through our magical space this week. We can’t wait to see the final production!
